    Wow! There’s much to think about here. I agree with you about working toward unity, and I generally remain in good relationship with those I don’t see eye-to-eye with. There are a couple things that get in the way. First, when you feel you are being shamed for your positions, or not respected.. Then it becomes healthier to step away. Second, sometimes by remaining in a family system, such as a church, you are betraying your own values. How do I face gay friends and remain in a church that devalues their love as less than legitimate? I have been struggling with this issue, and was challenged by this sermon. Thanks for offering food for thought.
